What Would You Be Willing to Give Up for What You Think Is Right?

1 book that will seriously make you think about philosophy and the worth of your opinion

Where am I going with this? He used the following example in one of his podcasts (on Cesar’s conquest of the Galls):

Have you? What would be on that list? Your family? Friends? Your country? Your faith? Some things would be higher up on the list, for sure. Many people throughout history have faced such a decision: from the famous Spartans, that fought to their death at the Battle of Thermopylae to defend their country and loved ones, to the many single moms out there that give up their dreams, their night sleep and any comfort they could have to raise their baby in a world that sometimes feels to be fighting against them.

Maybe money? A sure future? Your job? Your house? Your opinions? Your own life? See… the problem arises when the same things start to appear on both the lists. You have to start weighing and comparing things you love: would you sacrifice your honor and honesty to save your family’s future or would you accept whatever lies ahead four your family if it meant doing the right thing?
