There are many reasons to be overwhelmed in a day, week, or even year. Placing yourself right side up when the anxiety persists or is a long-term ailment means learning the tricks that keep you more balanced.

I use lots of tricks to knock myself out of anxious thoughts. I find in the month in which we use the word holiday, everyone is a little bit more worried about something to do with the word. Holidays create a different stressor. Everyone’s tolerance level is different.

I have used these techniques often to get myself back to a calmer state.

Coloring:

Structure vs. Play:

I had a blocked schedule for work today and 1.5 hours blocked for playing with the dirt in my garden. Both of these methods work as self-care maintenance for my anxiety.

It is scary to say when we are vulnerable, and the examples above are celebrities with three times the stressors and judgers than any of us. Amazingly, everyone has anxiety, yet unfortunately, the subject is still taboo.
