The stars of this show are the seven programming languages. Each of them has a role to play in exercising the poltergeists that haunt our current dusty mental motels. We’d like to offer a warm thanks to the creators of those languages, and also to the angels who helped accelerate our transition from novices to, well, slightly more knowledgeable novices.

We’d like to thank Roberto Ierusalimschy for recognizing the importance of a single, unifying abstraction.
