How a Fresh Perspective on Writing Can Magnify Your Reach

Why Your Message is Still Worth Sharing

You write to inspire, right?

You have a heart for change and want to impact the world with your words. You feel like you’re finally making your way, getting it out there, sharing a message tethered to your dreams.

Then it hits you. The comparison game and the realization that there are millions of other bloggers and writers just like you sending their messages out into the world.

You feel discouraged, drowned out, lost in the crowd. You feel like the wheels you’re spinning are spinning you. You wonder if it’s all worth it and if it’s going anywhere or accomplishing anything.

You wonder if anything you write even matters.

I’ve been there, friends. Do you know how many women are out there with inspirational blogs? Do you know how many women have dreams like me, hopes like me, desires like me?

When we think of where we are in terms of space, it’s true, we are spec on a planet in a galaxy within an infinite universe.

That may not sound encouraging but keep reading, it gets better…

We can easily fall prey to the mind-set that we are just a spec out there — that our writing is just bouncing around the universe like first-run episodes of I Love Lucy.

The blogosphere is massive, friend. It’s astronomically mind-blowing how many bloggers our out there.

We think things like why would my blog even matter? I mean who needs another …(plug in whatever type of blog you have).

When we feel that way, let’s remember this…

God sees us.

God knows our names.

God has plans of hope for us.

God has given us gifts that are meant to be shared.

God created us to walk in our calling and make an impact.

God created us in His image to be truth-tellers, not specs lost in a galaxy lost in a universe.

God created our voices to be loud enough to reach the people who are meant to hear it.

GOD CREATED YOUR VOICE TO BE LOUD ENOUGH TO REACH THE PEOPLE WHO ARE MEANT TO HEAR IT.

So when you feel like you’re all washed-up, ready to give it up, and about to throw up (sorry if that grossed you out, but I needed another up and let’s get real, doubt sours our stomachs)…

Remember that a fresh perspective can magnify our reach — because our voices will grow silent when we believe the lie that it’s all for naught.

God doesn’t give us throw-away gifts like that blouse from Aunt Sally you’ll never wear. What was she thinking?

GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN GIVE US GIFTS WE CAN KEEP — SO WE CAN GIVE THEM AWAY.

How’s that for astronomically mind-blowing?

That’s what our writing is all about…

Remember you are not just a spec you are special and you are going to complete the good work God began in you. That is not my promise, friend, it’s His. Straight from the Good Book.

Stay focused and stop looking around and believing those other bloggers are your competition. They are not — because reality check:

People follow more than one blog.

Audiences are not the same as real-estate. Think of an audience as being more like a time share. We share our time with them and they share their time with us and others.

All this to say you keep doing what you’re doing, keep writing what you’re writing, and keep giving glory to the One who gave you your voice. A voice nobody else has — a voice as unique as your thumbprint. You may have heard that before but some things are worth hearing again.

I think somebody needed to hear that today.

Is it you, friend?

Write for an audience of One and He will magnify your reach.
